Creep of Slag Blended Cement Concrete with and Without Activator

Abstract Partly replacing Portland cement (PC) with lower carbon footprint cementitious materials such as ground granulated blast furnace slag (slag) is considered a practical method for reducing CO 2 emissions in the concrete industry. To mitigate slow reactivity of system and enhance early-age strength, addition chemical activator solution. However, effect on creep behaviour slag-blended concretes remains unclear. This work presents sodium sulfate (Na SO 4 ) compressive PC blended 50 70 wt% slag. Four mixes (with without 2.5% Na activator) containing 395 kg material were prepared. The strain measurements conducted 150 × 300 mm cylindrical specimens 140 days under sustained load. results showed that 70% had than 50% concrete. presence helped reduce but slightly increased In addition, applicability predictive model AS3600:2018 high content was assessed.
